The Scarborough Hospital and Rouge Valley Health System recommend interim leadership structure
On October 6, 2016, the Boards of Directors of the Rouge Valley Health System (RVHS) and The Scarborough Hospital (TSH) reviewed and approved the amalgamation of the two hospitals, effective November 1, 2016, subject to approvals from each hospitals’ membership and the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. The temporary working name of the merged hospital is “Scarborough and Rouge Hospital” (SRH).
The Integration Steering Committee’s Governance Working Group has made recommendations to be approved by the SRH Board of Directors related to the roles of Interim President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Interim Chair of the Medical Advisory Committee (MAC), and Interim Chief Medical Officers.
The existing Boards are pleased to announce that Andrée Robichaud, President and CEO of RVHS, is being recommended as the Interim President and CEO while the recruitment process for a permanent CEO is underway. Robichaud will not seek the position of the permanent CEO of the new SRH. Robichaud will map out a short-term implementation plan and interim organizational structure.
Dr. Naresh Mohan, currently the Chief of Staff at RVHS, will be recommended to the new Board as the Interim Chair of the Medical Advisory Committee, and Interim Chief Medical Officer of the Centenary site.
Dr. Tom Chan, currently the Chief of Staff at TSH, will be recommended as Interim Chief Medical Officer for the General and Birchmount sites.
Upon the appointment of Robichaud as Interim CEO, Linda Calhoun, currently the Interim Chief Nursing Executive at TSH, will be recommended as the Interim Chief Nursing Executive for SRH.
These changes will take effect November 1st, 2016. They are subject to approval of the SRH Board of Directors.
