Welcome to the Accountability section of the TSH website. As part of our commitment to being open and transparent to the communities we serve, this section has been designed to share key information with all our stakeholders. Here you will find relevant statistics such as infection rates, financial information including audited statements, and ways that you can be involved with your local hospital.

The Scarborough Hospital (TSH) has established a Freedom of Information (FOI) Office to handle matters related to the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (the Act). The office oversees implementation and administration of access and protection of privacy at the hospital.
TSH collects, uses, discloses and disposes of information for the purposes of operating the hospital in a manner that is consistent with the Act. TSH promotes access to information and transparency of its governance and decision making.
As part of the Excellent Care for All Act 2010, every hospital in Ontario is required to create a Patient Declaration of Values and to consult with its community. On May 3rd, the Community Advisory Council presented their first draft of the Patient Declaration of Values to The Scarborough Hospital’s Board of Directors.
TSH’s Patient Declaration of Values is the result of a consultation process led by the Community Advisory Council, who sought input from a wide range of community groups and individuals.
This draft was posted online for comments, and was the subject of a series of staff focus groups at the hospital. The feedback from the postings and the focus groups will be considered by the Community Advisory Council at their June 20th meeting and they may recommend revisions to the Declaration as a result.
As per The Scarborough Hospital’s bylaws, a Community Advisory Council has been established. This group meets monthly and reports to the Board of Directors at each meeting.
