Fees and Charges
- Ontario residents with valid Ontario Hospital Insurance Plan coverage are not charged for hospital services (except for the supplemental fee for a private or semi-private room, ambulance services, uninsured procedures, TV and telephone rental fees, and crutches/canes/casts.)
- If your procedure is NOT covered by OHIP, you will be asked to pay in advance.
- If you do not have OHIP (Ontario Hospital Insurance Plan) coverage, you may be required to pay a deposit to the hospital at the time of admission.
- The balance of your account will be due upon discharge from the hospital.
- All Canadian residents insured in their province are covered in Ontario.
Canadian residents without a provincial health care must pay for all charges incurred, based on the Ontario resident rates established by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.
