Women planning to give birth at TSH’s Birchmount campus, and who require close monitoring of their pregnancy for conditions such as twins, high blood pressure or diabetes, are seen in the Antenatal Assessment Clinic.  Assessment of the baby may include fetal heart monitoring and ultrasound.

The Antenatal Assessment Clinic provides the following services: 

• Antenatal testing 
• Non-stress tests / ultrasound testing 
• RH immunoglobulin administration 
• Opportunity to identify learning deficits or special needs which may impact on a timely discharge 
• Referrals to nutritional services, social work and community supports
