TSH’s  Psychogeriatric Outreach Program (POP) provides assessments and reports with recommendations for nursing home staff to manage clients/residents presenting with behaviours of concern; including agitation, aggression, depression, resistance to care, psychotic symptoms etc.  The service is available to address the needs of residents and staff in early stages of any difficult to manage behaviours in an attempt to avoid hospitalization.
   
The POP program is associated with Psychogeriatric Resource Consultation (PRC) Program in addition to two to three regular psychiatrist visits the nursing home facilities on a monthly basis.

The POP program is currently comprised of two Registered Nurses and one Occupational Therapist.  The program covers 12 local nursing homes in the Central Scarborough area.
