Pediatric Speech Language Pathology services at TSH are provided in partnership with the Toronto Preschool Speech and Language Services. Children are eligible for intervention from birth until the end of Junior Kindergarten.

These services are primarily provided on an outpatient basis; however, assessment for inpatients can be requested. Several different types of intervention may be offered including: assessment, individual or group treatment, caregiver consultation, home programming, parent training and monitoring. Children with the following difficulties may be eligible for services: 

• Pronunciation 
• Comprehension of language 
• Spoken language 
• Voice quality 
• Stuttering / fluency 
• Social communications skills

Referrals may be made by calling Toronto Preschool Speech and Language Services at 416.281.7445. Families using this service must be a resident of Scarborough or work in the area.
