Community support for The Scarborough Hospital continues to be essential. Our goal is to support the healthcare needs of the community of Scarborough by ensuring that The Scarborough Hospital has the resources it requires to provide an outstanding care experience that meets the unique needs of each and every patient.
This means better service, faster diagnosis and treatment close to home. Our healthcare team can do that with the right tools. Your donations make this possible. With your support, we are making great strides, purchasing the equipment that will best meet your healthcare needs.
Last year, the Foundation launched several new fundraising initiatives, hosted new events for our donors and community, and celebrated the purchase of more than 1,500 pieces of new equipment. With the support of the community, almost $3 million was granted to The Scarborough Hospital to achieve this goal.
This year, we will continue to fundraise to purchase critical items such as Laparoscopy Towers and Surgical Instruments. These particular items allow doctors to operate with smaller incisions which leads to faster recovery times and a significantly better patient experience. Less recovery time helps to reduce waiting lists and allows recovery to be in the comfort of your own home.
