Change text size: A A A

As part of its commitment to community engagement, The Scarborough Hospital hosts two Town Halls each year. The second Town Hall for 2010, scheduled for Tuesday, November 16, will focus on ‘building a strong future.’

Open to the general public, staff, physicians, volunteers and the media, this Town Hall will update all stakeholders in the progress being made through various internal initiatives. The keynote topic – Cancer care in Scarborough – focuses on TSH’s role in building an integrated model of cancer care delivery in our community.

Here are the highlights:

  • One patient’s story – John Dakin;
  • Rebuilding trust through good governance – Stephen Smith, TSH Board Member;
  • Clinical Action Planning update - Dr. Steven Jackson, Chief of Staff;
  • Building a strong role for the community – Paul Rook, TSH Community Advisory Council;
  • Building an integrated model for cancer care – Vincent Pileggi, Regional Director, Scarborough Joint Systemic Program.

The event is designed to encourage interactive discussions and will include a formal Q&A session.

The Town Hall will be held on Tuesday, November 16 at 7:00 p.m. at the Irene Stickland Centre at the Birchmount campus, 3030 Birchmount Road, Scarborough, Ont. M1W 3W3.

Highlights of the evening will be tweetcast on Twitter, using hashtag #tshtownhall.
