Bill has an extensive background in leading and building private and public organizations. Since 2006 Bill has held the role of Chief Executive Officer for the Human Resources Professional Association of Ontario (HRPAO). Throughout his professional career, Bill has created and implemented business-altering strategies and consistently achieved record growth profits across varied industries including electronics, entertainment, publishing and business services.

As Chief Executive Officer of the HRPAO, Bill leads the organization in achieving its strategic imperatives which are to: understand and anticipate global trends to facilitate forward thinking of its members; to maintain a high and credible presence in the global HR community; to contribute to the individual and professional strength of its members by delivering programs and services that support targeted growth; to raise the profile and credibility of the profession as a key partner in shaping organizational excellence; and to develop effective relationships at all levels of the industry, government and other associations.

Bill’s previous positions include Chief Operating Officer of Shred-it International Inc.; President, Cinram International Inc.; Chief Executive Officer, Thomson Newspapers - Western Canada; President, Globe and Mail; and various line and staff positions in General Management, Operations, Marketing and Finance with Nortel.

Bill holds a Masters Degree in Business from the London Business School, a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Southampton University, Certificates from the Senior Executive Programs in both Manufacturing, and Marketing from Harvard Business School and is a graduate of both The Aspen Institute Executive Leadership Program and the Directors College at McMaster University.
