“We are extremely grateful to the Pink Gala, its organizers Dr. Shivani Sharma and Deepti Aurora, and all those who attended the event,” said Michael Mazza, President and CEO, TSHF. “Strong communities build strong hospitals and the success of this event will help The Scarborough Hospital continue to provide high quality cancer care services close to home for thousands of local residents.”

True to its theme “Hollywood Bollywood Night”, guests were treated to Indian cuisine, a Pink Divas Fashion Show and live entertainment courtesy of the Shiamak Toronto Dance Team and A2D2 (an aerial dance cirque company). Speakers included Senator Dr. Asha Seth, the Honourable Brad Duguid, MPP Bas Balkissoon, event co-chairs Dr. Shivani Sharma and Deepti Aurora and Dr. Winnie Leung from TSH.

“We are proud to present a cheque for $100,000 to The Scarborough Hospital Foundation,” expressed Dr. Shivani Sharma, Co-Chair of the Pink Gala. “It is through the dedicated and focused efforts of all our sponsors, donors and volunteers that this dream became a reality.

“As a family physician serving the communities of Scarborough and Markham for the last 30 years, I am well aware of the toll that cancer takes on patients and their families. The Scarborough Hospital’s proposed integrated cancer care program is a giant step forward for our diverse community.”

Deepti Aurora, Co-Chair of the Pink Gala added, “My family and I have experienced firsthand the exemplary care provided by The Scarborough Hospital. It is an honour for me to co-chair this event and support the hospital in its vision to implement a fully-integrated, state-of-the-art cancer care program.”
