Did you know The Scarborough Hospital (TSH) security team walks 162 kilometres every day? Or that TSH used the equivalent of 96 Olympic-sized swimming pools of water in 2014?
TSH has numerous services working behind-the-scenes to keep the hospital running smoothly and to create a comfortable and healing environment for our patients. Click on the images below to discover the seldom seen sides of The Scarborough Hospital.
Keeping the hospital clean and infection-free, the 152-person Environmental Services team works around the clock to bust bacteria and maintain a sterile environment through the hospital’s more than 900,000 square feet.
Keeping the lights on and the water running is just part of what keeps the TSH Facilities department busy. The team services the hospital’s infrastructure, including its electrical power grid, plumbing, pneumatic tubes, air quality, and grounds keeping.
Purchasing and Logistics
The need for medical supplies and resources at TSH are endless, which keeps the Purchasing and Logistics team busy facilitating the secure storage and efficient flow of resources throughout the hospital.
Need to get a patient from one end of the hospital to the other? Our dedicated porters help inpatients arrive at their destinations on time, and move supplies, like crash carts, to clinical settings.
Parking and Security
Safety first… that’s the motto of TSH’s Parking and Security team responsible for the physical well-being of all patients, staff members, and visitors on hospital property.
