• TSH Staff Honoured As 2015 Scarborough Urban Heroes
    Published December 8, 2015

Congratulations to Vicente Dumael and Bobette Bennett Waul – employees at The Scarborough Hospital (TSH) – for receiving Scarborough Urban Hero Awards in the Community and Health categories, respectively.

The Urban Hero Awards, presented by Metroland Media, recognize community members whose personal efforts, sacrifices, or contributions have made a significant impact on people, groups, or causes in Scarborough.

Vicente, who works in Radiology at the Birchmount campus, is a dedicated volunteer and a leader at his church. “It’s a good experience to give something to the community,” he said. “It is a good feeling. It’s better to give than to receive.”

Bobette is a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at the General campus. She is known for her sunny demeanour and kindness to patients, particularly those who are frightened or stressed.

Vicente and Bobette’s dedication and community service are inspiring.
