  • Scarborough and Rouge Hospital announces enhanced 24/7 community crisis support

Sadness. Hopelessness. Anxiety. These are just some of the symptoms that may prompt someone to call Scarborough and Rouge Hospital’s Regional Community Crisis Program, a telephone crisis support line and crisis support team. Now, thanks to $500,000 from the Central East Local Health Integration Network, individuals who call the crisis line (at 416-495-2891) will be able to immediately speak with a dedicated professional crisis worker, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

  • Scarborough and Rouge Hospital on track with 100-day plan

Scarborough and Rouge Hospital is well-positioned to meet the deliverables of its 100-day plan, which outlines the initial integration activities for the organization following the merger of The Scarborough Hospital’s Birchmount and General sites and Rouge Valley Health System’s Centenary site on December 1, 2016.

Patient Stories

Scarborough and Rouge Hospital

Effective December 1, 2016, the Birchmount and General sites of The Scarborough Hospital and the Centenary site of Rouge Valley Health System have merged to become one hospital corporation. Our temporary name is Scarborough and Rouge Hospital.

This is an exciting time for health care in Scarborough! By coming together, the new Scarborough and Rouge Hospital will provide patients with better, more equitable access to care and a broader range of services located close to home.

As we work to build a truly integrated hospital system for Scarborough, each of our three sites is committed to delivering the same great care our patients have come to expect from their community hospitals.
