The Critical Care team at The Scarborough Hospital (TSH) provides expert care to patients with complex conditions requiring advanced respiratory support, hemodynamic monitoring and support, cardiac monitoring and other life supporting treatment modalities.

An interprofessional team, which includes intensivists, cardiologists, pharmacists, registered respiratory therapists, and registered nurses with advanced training in critical care, together with patients and families to provide high-quality care in a compassionate environment.

What We Offer

At the General campus, Critical Care is a 22-bed unit in the Critical Care Centre and provides:

  • Intensive care
  • Coronary care
  • Acute medical care

At the Birchmount campus, Critical Care includes two distinct units that works together with the Intensive Care Unit to provide:

  • Acute medical care
