The Scarborough Hospital (TSH) is a centre of excellence for breast imaging and is accredited with the Canadian Association of Radiologists.

Mammography is used for early detection of breast cancer before it can be felt. This process involves taking an X-ray of the breast using a very low and safe level of radiation.

TSH meets national standards for equipment, image quality, radiation dose and quality control and assurance. We customize our services to meet our patients’ unique needs, whether that involves implants, post-reconstructive surgery or regular screening. We provide follow-up care if a screening mammogram reveals an abnormality, and our Breast Diagnostic Assessment Unit enables patients with breast symptoms to see a breast surgeon onsite.

TSH is an affiliate of the Ontario Breast Screening Program (OBSP). The OBSP is responsible for sending reminder letters to patients when they are due for their next mammogram.
