Beginning your career is an exciting journey, but with endless options pointing in many different directions, it can be difficult to decide just which path to choose.
Focusing on today’s high school students – tomorrow’s leaders – from Grades 9 through 12, #careercruze was launched to provide this highly progressive group with early education and exposure to the multitude of careers available in health care.
#careercruze dedicates one full day each year for high school students to visit SRH and explore the many facets of health care – from clinical to administrative to support services – as well as receive an opportunity to match their current interests with a potential career or perhaps discover a new passion.
The students participate in a mock emergency that guides them through different departments, i.e. Emergency, Information Services, Finance, Operating Rooms, the Laboratory, Diagnostic Imaging and more, for a one-of-a-kind, hands-on experience. At each stop, staff members showcase how they support patient care and share the educational path they took to achieve their current role.
#careercruze helps students gain experience and gather information that enables them to make informed choices about their future, and hopefully, they are inspired to pursue a career in health care.
