The Scarborough Hospital (TSH) and Rouge Valley Health System (RVHS) Boards of Directors will receive a proposed Planning Framework developed by the Integration Leadership Committee (ILC), at their respective special meetings, in Open Session, on Wednesday, June 19. The Planning Framework is a plan that outlines the steps and the focus that TSH and RVHS will take over the next four months to prepare a preferred integration plan.
The development of a proposed Planning Framework is in response to the Central East Local Health
Integration Network (Central East LHIN) Board of Directors’ motion passed on March 27, directing TSH to partner with RVHS in a facilitated integration process to identify how the two hospital corporations can develop an integrated and coordinated model to support the delivery of high-quality, accessible and safe hospital programs and services for the residents of Scarborough. The formal motions are outlined in the attached Backgrounder.
The ILC, with representatives from the Boards of TSH and RVHS, administrative and medical leadership and the Scarborough community, drafted a proposed Planning Framework for discussion and decision by the two hospital Boards. If approved, the Planning Framework will then be submitted to the Central East LHIN Board of Directors at their June 24 meeting, Open Session, for discussion and decision.
A key component of the Planning Framework identifies the commitment by the ILC to a robust and inclusive stakeholder engagement plan to solicit input from key stakeholders that will inform the hospital boards in their decision-making process.
The Special Board meetings are scheduled as follows:
- The Scarborough Hospital meeting will begin at 5:00 p.m. in the Lecture Theatre at the Birchmount campus.
- The Rouge Valley Health System meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the Dr. Bruce Johnston Conference Room at the Centenary site.
